Welcome to the website of the Caledonian
Bar, "Findons Favourite"
The Caledonian Bar (Formerly known as The
Cissbury Tap) is under new ownership. Landlord Tony Hampson has been a
resident of Worthing for 20 years and living in the High Salvington/Findon
area recognised the need for a friendly local.
Tony an ex Flight Engineer with Caledonian
Airways acquired the Bar in Jan 2003 and decided to give it a much
needed change.
The bar was re-named and re-furbished to
give it a fresh start and is full of interesting photos and
memorabilia from Caledonian Airways. If aviation is an interest of
yours pop in and take a look and maybe have a chat with Tony.
We pride ourselves on our
friendliness, and with just 5 staff the customers quickly get to
know our names as we do theirs !!
Bar Manager Steve prides himself on keeping a good
cellar, and cook Sue has been in the catering trade for many years,
and serves up a tasty treat!

The famous Cissbury ring landmark is just
a short walk from our Bar where you can enjoy breathtaking views of
the Southdowns.
The Bar is a strong supporter of the local
Chestnut Tree Childrens Hospice, and raises an astonishing amount of
money for such a small bar. We have regular events throughout the year
including Burns Suppers etc and are always open to suggestions for
social events.
We have a small Patio at the rear for use
in the Summer, and Children are welcome in the Patio area.
The Bar is also available for private hire
on Sunday evenings in the Winter months at a nominal cost.
We look forward to serving you in the
Caledonian Bar very soon. |
